Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".
Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.
Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.
After more than 50 years of welcoming first year students to Liverpool, the Carnatic halls site will close for the final time this summer. To mark the occasion, alumni are invited to attend a final farewell to Carnatic on Saturday 1 June.
Whilst the final cohort of students are busy setting up for the last ever ‘Carni Carnival’, alumni can wander around the grounds, have lunch in the Herculaneum Room and a tour of the halls by one of the last ever student residents.
Guests will also be able to hear from the Guild of Students and the University about the history of the Carnatic site and the future of University halls of residence.
There will be a display of old photos and memorabilia from Carnatic and we would also love to include your memories. If you have any photos, videos or stories that you wish to share, please email them to us via: alumni@liverpool.ac.uk, even if you can’t come to the event.
The event will start at 12 noon in the Herculaneum Room at Carnatic with welcome drinks and speeches from the Guild of Students and the University of Liverpool, followed by lunch. The ‘Carni bar’ will also be open from 3pm for anyone who wishes to stay for the student carnival.
Tickets for the event cost £5 per person and include the BBQ lunch plus a drink on arrival. For those who just wish to attend for the tours, please register by emailing the Alumni team via the address below. Friends and family are very welcome to attend.

Getting there
We recommend using public transport (The old 699 bus) to reach Carnatic, but there are limited car parking spaces available at Greenbank Halls, a 5-10 minute walk away. If you would like a car parking space, please email us with your name and car registration number to let us know.
