Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.

This workshop is spilt into two parts. Participants may choose to come to part 1, part 2, or both parts (complete workshop). Please note: if planning to attend part 2 only, participants must already be familiar with Active Learning.

Part 1: 45 minutes.

An introduction to the Curriculum 2021 Hallmark of Active Learning. At the end of the 45 minute session participants will be able to:

- Express the purpose and nature of Active Learning and be able to translate its significance for course design to their respective educational disciplinary contexts.
- Communicate the significance of Active Learning as a course design principle to peers within their subject area.

Part 2: 2 hours

An interactive practical session where participants will begin to develop their own updated or revised design for learning using Active Learning as a curriculum design principle. At the end of 120 minutes, participants will be able to, at an introductory level:

Critically evaluate, select and apply appropriate forms of Active Learning to their current programme or module specification.

This workshop is hosted by the Centre for Innovation in Education and open to University of Liverpool staff only.
