Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.

This session, with Dr Farnaz Nickpour will introduce you to the fascinating field of Design Engineering and how you could combine advanced engineering knowledge, creative design expertise, and hands-on prototyping skills to solve real-world problems and improve quality of life through innovation. You'll explore a real-world example of an exoskeleton robotics design project and gain an understanding of the key stages involved in the engineering design process.

About Dr Nickpour, University of Liverpool School of Engineering
Dr Nickpour is the Director of The Inclusionaries Lab; A Reader in Inclusive Design and Human-Centred Innovation; The Design Lead in the Department of Materials, Design and Manufacturing Engineering and Designer-in-Residence for the Marie Curie Hospice Liverpool.
Dr Nickpour, and her team, are currently working with Duchenne UK (DUK) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy UK (SMA UK) to develop a SMART suit, to be a transformative assistive device which will support and enhance upper body movement in children and young people living with progressive neuromuscular diseases, such as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
